Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Access the CVR Impact switch. Is the CVR Impact Switch On?

    1. If YES, push the reset switch on the impact switch assembly to set the switch to the usual position and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. Is the CVR BITE (fail) light on the front of the CVR ON?

    1. If YES, go to step 10.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  3. Remove the CVR and access connector (A51P1). Perform a 28 VDC voltage check as follows:

    From To Result
    A51P1-9 A51P1-17

    1. If there is 28 VDC, go to step 7.
    2. If there is no 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect SPDA 3 connector (A15P3). Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A51P1-9 A15P3-A
    A51P1-17 Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A51P1-9 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Make sure there is 28 VDC at the input of the CVR Impact switch on pin S4P1-B.

    1. If there is power, replace the CVR Impact switch and do close out.
    2. If there is no power, investigate the power source at SPDA 3 and continue with next step.

  7. Disconnect CVR control panel connector (A44P1). Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A44P1-A Ground
    A44P1-B Ground
    A44P1-C Ground
    A44P1-D Ground
    A44P1-E Ground
    A44P1-V Ground
    A44P1-W Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A44P1-A A51P1-12
    A44P1-B A51P1-13
    A44P1-C A51P1-14
    A44P1-D A51P1-15
    A44P1-E A51P1-16
    A44P1-V A51P1-5
    A44P1-W A51P1-6

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  9. Replace the CVR Control Panel. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.
