Troubleshooting Recommendations:

NOTE: During any generator switching, all the ACMPs (hydraulic pumps) should be turned off.

  1. When CAS messages, CAIMS, synoptic page, or NVM download error code analysis, indicate that contactor P/N 5911740-1, at contactor positions K4, K6, K9, K12, or P/N 5911739-1 at contactor positions K2, K3, K5, K7, K8, K10, K11, K13, may be at fault, it is possible to restore these contactors full functionally by performing the generator switching sequence.
  2. Power down and up the aircraft.
  3. Ensure that both engines are running, the BMS (Bleed Management System) is on and all ACMPs are off (including AC pump 3A).

    1. If one or more conditions are not satisfied, apply condition as required and continue with next step.
    2. If all conditions are satisfied, continue with next step.

  4. Check for CAS messages, CAIMS, synoptic page, or NVM download error code analysis, indicate that contactor P/N 5911740-1, at contactor positions K4, K6, K9, K12, or P/N 5911739-1 at contactor positions K2, K3, K5, K7, K8, K10, K11, K13.

    1. If contactor K6 or K10 has fault, go to step 9.
    2. If contactor K9 or K7 has fault, go to step 13.
    3. If contactor K12 or K5 has fault, go to step 17.
    4. If contactor K11 or K2 has fault, go to step 21.
    5. If contactor K3 or K8 has fault, go to step 25.
    6. If contactor K4 or K13 has fault, continue with next step.

  5. For contactor K4 or K13 fault, on the ELECTRICAL Control Panel set the GEN 2 and GEN 3 PBAs to "ON".
  6. Verify that AC Electrical Synoptic page shows all the AC busses powered, that the AC Bus 1 is powered from GEN 3 and AC Bus 4 from GEN 2.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Set the GEN 4 PBA on and again verify that all the AC busses are shown as green with the AC Bus 1 and AC Bus 4 being powered this time from GEN 4.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. Repeat the GEN 4 on and off switching two or three times to ensure that the AC Bus 1 and AC Bus 4 power source switching follows.

    1. If there is CAS Message, troubleshoot them first and do close out.
    2. If there is no CAS Message, continue with next step.

  9. For contactor K6 or K10 fault, on the ELECTRICAL Control Panel set the GEN 1 and GEN 4 PBAs to "ON".
  10. Verify that AC Electrical Synoptic page shows all the AC busses powered, that the AC Bus 2 is powered from GEN 4 and AC Bus 3 from GEN 1.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  11. Set the GEN 3 PBA on and again verify that all the AC busses are shown as green with the AC Bus 2 and AC Bus 3 being powered this time from GEN 3.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  12. Repeat the GEN 3 on and off switching two or three times to ensure that the AC Bus 2 and AC Bus 3 power source switching follows.

    1. If there is CAS Message, troubleshoot them first and do close out.
    2. If there is no CAS Message, continue with next step.

  13. For contactor K9 or K7 fault, on the ELECTRICAL Control Panel set the GEN 1 and GEN 4 PBAs to "ON".
  14. Verify that AC Electrical Synoptic page shows all the AC busses powered, that the AC Bus 3 is powered from GEN 1 and AC Bus 2 from GEN 4.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  15. Set the GEN 2 PBA on and again verify that all the AC busses are shown as green with the AC Bus 3 and AC Bus 2 being powered this time from GEN 2.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  16. Repeat the GEN 2 on and off switching two or three times to ensure that the AC Bus 3 and AC Bus 2 power source switching follows.

    1. If there is CAS Message, troubleshoot them first and do close out.
    2. If there is no CAS Message, continue with next step.

  17. For contactor K12 or K5 fault, on the ELECTRICAL Control Panel set the GEN 2 and GEN 3 PBAs to "ON".
  18. Verify that AC Electrical Synoptic page shows all the AC busses powered, that the AC Bus 4 is powered from GEN 2 and AC Bus 1 from GEN 3.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  19. Set the GEN 1 PBA on and again verify that all the AC busses are shown as green with the AC Bus 4 and AC Bus 1 being powered this time from GEN 1.
