Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Before continuing with the troubleshooting procedure, review the contents of AW700-28-0221 and determine, using the CAIMS, if fuel is present in the FWD fuel tank.

    1. If fuel is present in the FWD fuel tank, transfer fuel out of the FWD fuel tank.
    2. If no fuel qty is present, continue with next step.

  2. Perform the following:

    • Set the MASTER SW on the RDCP to the ON position
    • Set the CTR switch on the RDCP to the OPEN position
    • Set the MODE SELECTOR switch on the RDCP to the MANUAL REFUEL POSITION
    • Set the START/STOP switch on the RDCP to the START position and release it
    • Set the SHUTOFF TEST switch on the RDCP to the TEST position and release it

  3. Check if the FWD FAIL message show on the RDCP.

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with the next step.

  4. Check that the electrical connectors A47FP1 for the FWD AUX REF SOL VALVE, FMQGC and A47AP1 for the FWD AUX REF SOL STATUS, FMQGC are correctly installed and not corroded or damaged. Is there any damage or corrosion?

    1. If YES, repair or replace the defective wiring or connector(s) and continue with next step.
    2. If NO, continue with the next step.

  5. Disconnect the FMQGC connectors (A47FP1) and (A47AP1). Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors that follows:

    From To Result
    A47FP1-18 A47AP1-J9

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with the next step.

  6. Check that the electrical connector L55P1 for the CTR TANK FRONT SPAR, FWD AUX REF SOL is correctly installed and not corroded or damaged. Is there any damage or corrosion?

    1. If YES, repair or replace the defective wiring and connector(s) and continue with next step.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  7. Disconnect the connector L55P1 for the CTR TANK FRONT SPAR, FWD AUX REF SOL. Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors A47FP1 and L55P1 that follows:

    From To Result
    A47FP1-18 L55P1-B

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Connect the disconnected connectors A47AP1 and A47FP1. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    L55P1-A Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, connect the disconnected connectors L55P1 and continue with the next step.

  9. Perform the following and continue with next step:

    • Place the MASTER SW on the RDCP to the ON position
    • Place the CTR switch on the RDCP to the OPEN position
    • Place the MODE SELECTOR switch on the RDCP to the MANUAL REFUEL position
    • Place the START/STOP switch on the RDCP to the START position and then release it

  10. Disconnect the fwd ref sol (L55P1). Perform a voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    L55P1-B Ground 28 VDC

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, go to step 12.
    2. If there is 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  11. Place the SHUTOFF/TEST switch on the RDCP to the TEST position and then release it. Perform a voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    L55P1-B Ground 28 VDC

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, replace the fwd auxiliary tank refuel solenoid. Connect the disconnected connectors and do close out.
    2. If there is 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  12. Replace the FMQGC.
  13. Perform the following:

    • Place the START/STOP switch on the RDCP to the START position and then release it
    • Place the SHUTOFF/TEST switch on the RDCP to the TEST position and then release it

  14. Check if the FWD FAIL message show on the RDCP?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  15. Replace the fwd auxiliary fuel tank refuel shutoff valve.
  16. Do close out.
