Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Gather information from the crew or technicians on the circumstances surrounding the fuel spill by filling in the fuel spill questionnaire.
  2. Verify if the aircraft is on level ground.

    1. If the aircraft is level, continue with next step.
    2. If the aircraft is not on level ground, ensure the aircraft is level.

  3. If the aircraft was moved and the left and right wing tanks each contain more than 12,000 lbs, this could have caused fuel to enter the vent system and spill.
  4. Scavenge the fuel vent system using the steps located in AMM TASK 09-10-00-584-801. Does fuel still spill out of the vent system?

    1. If YES, continue with next step?
    2. If NO, do close out.

  5. Check the Scavenge Ejectors for possible FOD and inspect associated fittings.
  6. Check the Scavenge Ejector Check Valves and make sure they are not stuck open.
  7. Check the Surge Tank (climb vent) Inlet Check Valve.
  8. Check the Restrictor on the Surge Box.
  9. Check all Wiggins Fittings from the Scavenge Ejectors to Surge Box that are accessible from inside the of the wings.
  10. If no issues were discovered so far, access the Main Dive Vent Lines and confirm installation/orientation. Rectify if required.
  11. Do close out.
