Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

HYDRAULIC PRESSURE SWITCHES FAULT CONDITION SENSED

Message Code: 293OBS012
Effectivity: All
System: Engine Indicating
System Description: 29-30-00
Schematic Diagram: 29-12-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Wiring Diagram: 29-00-03 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Message Description:

A hydraulic pressure-switch fault condition is sensed. All other fault conditions for a pressure switch indication are satisfactory. These procedures apply to the pressure switches of the Hydraulic System 1, Hydraulic System 2 and Hydraulic System 3.

Possible Causes:

  • Engine-Driven Hydraulic Pump (EDP) 1A Pressure-Switch (S34)
  • Engine-Driven Hydraulic Pump (EDP) 2A Pressure-Switch (S37)
  • AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 1B Pressure-Switch (S36)
  • AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 2B Pressure-Switch (S38)
  • AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 3A Pressure-Switch (S39)
  • AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 3B Pressure-Switch (S40)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform a troubleshooting of a pressure-switch with a HIGH fault condition. Set the selection to the HYDRAULIC synoptic page (HSP) on the EICAS. Check if the hydraulic pump flow-line between the system EDP/ACMP and the PSI indication is green.

    1. If the hydraulic pump flow-line between the system EDP/ACMP and the PSI indication is green, replace the defective hydraulic pressure-switch and do close out.
    2. If the hydraulic pump flow-line between the system EDP/ACMP and the PSI indication is not green, continue the next step.

  2. Perform a troubleshooting of a pressure-switch with a LOW fault condition.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Disconnect the connectors S34P1 for the EDP 1A, S36P1 for the ACMP 1B, S37P1 for the EDP 2A, S38P1 for the ACMP 2B, S39P1 for the ACMP 3A, S40P1 for the ACMP 3B from the hydraulic pressure-switch as applicable. Perform a continuity check between pin A and pin F on the hydraulic pressure-switch.
NOTE: Not all pins on the pressure-switch are connected. The wiring manual does not show pins that are not connected.

    1. If there is no continuity, replace the defective hydraulic pressure switch and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Do close out.
