Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Make sure all required conditions for Autobrake arming are met (See troubleshooting Tips). Can the Autobrake switch be armed?

    1. If YES, do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect Autobrake Selector Switch connector AP23P3 located on the control panel (AP23) and BCU connector (A71BP1). Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    AP23P3-11 Ground
    AP23P3-13 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    AP23P3-11 A71BP1-10D
    AP23P3-13 A71BP1-11C

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the Autobrake Selector Switch. Is the fault still present?
NOTE: You can attempt to exercise/test the Autobrake Selector Switch Arm Solenoid using an external 10 VDC power supply prior to replacing the switch assembly.

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the Brake Control Unit.
  6. Do close out.
