Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Floor Light or Lights do not come on.

Possible Causes:

  • Floor Light Bulb
  • Left Floor Light (DS41)
  • Right Floor Light (DS42)
  • Floor Lights Switch (S5)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Set the FLOOR light switch to ON on the COCKPIT LIGHTS (INTEGRAL) control panel. Perform voltage check as follows:
    For the LH floor light (DS41):

    From To Expected Result Result
    TBD3715 Ground +28 VDC

    For the RH floor light (DS42):

    From To Expected Result Result
    TBE3707 Ground +28 VDC

    1. If there is no volatge, go to step 4.
    2. If there is volatge, continue with next step.

  2. Replace the bulb of the unserviceable floor light and perform the operational test.

    1. If the floor light operates, do close out.
    2. If the floor light does not operate, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the applicable floor light and perform the operational test.

    1. If the floor light operates, do close out.
    2. If the floor light does not operate, continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect the applicable floor light (DS41 or DS42) and the INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL connectors (AP26P1 and AP26P2).
  5. Perform a continuity check between the pins of the FLOOR LT STN 225 LHS connectors (DS41) or FLOOR LT STN 225 RHS (DS42) and INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL (AP26P1) or INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL (AP26P2) as follows:
    For the LHS floor light (DS41):

    From To Result
    DS41-TBD3715 AP26P1-20
    DS41-TBD3717N GS560

    For the RHS floor light (DS42):

    From To Result
    DS42-TBE3707 AP26P2-20
    DS42-TBE3708N GS557

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Connect the applicable floor light (DS41 or DS42) and connect the disconnected connectors AP26P1 to LHS floor light and AP26P2 to RHS floor light.
  7. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  8. Perform the troubleshooting for observed fault COCKPIT LIGHTS (INTEGRAL) CONTROL PANEL MALFUNCTION.
  9. Do close out.
