Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Set the Floor light switch to ON on the Cockpit Lights (Integral) control panel. Measure the voltage at the connectors that follow:
For the LH phone light (DS39):

    From To Expected Result Result
    DS39P1-1 DS39P1-2 (Ground) +28 VDC

For the RH phone light (DS40):

    From To Expected Result Result
    DS40P1-1 DS40P1-2 (Ground) +28 VDC

    1. If there is no voltage, go to step 4.
    2. If there is voltage, continue with the next step.

  2. Replace the bulb of the phone light and perform the operational test.

    1. If the bulb of the phone light operates, do close out.
    2. If the bulb of the phone light does not operate, continue with the next step.

  4. Disconnect the INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL connectors (AP26P1 and AP26P2). Perform a continuity check between the pins of the connectors PHONE LT STN 265 LHS (DS40) and INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL (AP26P2) or PHONE LT STN 265 RHS (DS39) and INTEGRAL & MISCELLANEOUS LIGHTS COCKPIT CONTROL PANEL (AP26P1) as follows:
    For the LHS phone light:

    From To Result
    DS40-TBB3705 AP26P2-21
    DS40-TBB3706 GS556

    For the RHS phone light:

    From To Result
    DS39-TBC3714 AP26P1-21
    DS39-TBC3716 GS559

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required. Connect the applicable phone light (DS39 or DS40) and connect the disconnected connectors AP26P1 to RHS phone light and AP26P2 to LHS phone light and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Perform the troubleshooting for 331OBS002 - COCKPIT LIGHTS (INTEGRAL) CONTROL PANEL MALFUNCTION.
  6. Do close out.
