Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Automatic Secondary Light selection does not operate. There is no 28 VDC output from the Failure Indicator Box. There is no failure output to Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 4.

Possible Causes:

  • Failure Indicator Box (A126)
  • External Lights Control Panel (AP11)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Set the NAV switch to ON.
  2. Measure the voltage at the connector A126P1 as follows:

    From To Result
    A126P1-A A126P1-P

    1. If there is no voltage, repair the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is voltage, continue with next step.

  3. Replace the failure indicator box. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the external lights control panel. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  5. Perform troubleshooting procedure for CAS message below. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  6. Perform wiring check between DAU 4 and Failure Indicator Box. Repair as required.
  7. Do close out.
