Troubleshooting Recommendations:

WARNING: Set the strobe switch to the off position before you disconnect the connectors. The measurements with the power applied to the wing-strobe power-supplies must be done very carefully. There is 400 VDC applied to the connectors during this operation. The high voltage can cause death or injury to personnel and/or damage to equipment.

  1. Set the BEACON switch to ON and check If all the fuselage strobe lights operate.

    1. If all the fuselage strobe lights do not operate, replace the external lights control panel and do close out.
    2. If all the fuselage strobe lights operate, continue with the next step.

  2. Perform a 400 VAC voltage check at the connector DS64P1 for the upper fuselage strobe/anti-collision light and DS65P1 for the lower fuselage strobe/anti-collision light as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
DS64P1-A Ground 400 VAC anode voltage
    DS64P1-B Ground 400 VAC 1 ±0.16 Hz cathode pulse
DS65P1-A Ground 400 VAC anode voltage
    DS65P1-B Ground 400 VAC 1 ±0.16 Hz cathode pulse

    1. If there is voltage, replace the fuselage strobe/anti-collision light and do close out.
    2. If there is no voltage, continue with the next step.

  3. Check If the fuselage strobe/anti-collision light power-supply is serviceable.

    1. If it is serviceable, repair the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If it is not serviceable, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the defective power supply.

    1. If fault remains, repair the defective wiring of external lights control panel as required and do close out.
    2. If system checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Perform the troubleshooting for CAS Message listed below:
  6. Do close out.
