Message Overview:

Message Name:

AUTOMATIC DIRECTION FINDER (ADF) SYSTEM NO DATA

Message Code: 345OBS004
Effectivity: All
System: Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) System
System Description: 34-52-00
Schematic Diagram: 34-52-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ GlobalXRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 34-52-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Message Description:

The Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) System cannot receive guidance data.

Possible Causes:

  • Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) Radio Module
  • Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) 1 Antenna (Top) (E3)
  • Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) 2 Antenna (Top) (E4)
  • Very High Frequency (VHF) Navigation Unit 1 (A3)
  • Very High Frequency (VHF) Navigation Unit 2 (A4)

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

NOTE: The ADF radio module is not an LRU. It is installed in the VHF NAV unit. The optional VHF NAV unit 3 does not contain an ADF radio module.

NOTE: When the radio system is initially energized (after a cold-start and during a WOW condition), it automatically starts the POST. The POST does an RMU test, RSB continuity test, and radio module test. The POST does not do a test of the antennas or coaxial cables.

NOTE: If the RMU display shows CHK RMU 1-2, or, if the RMU displays are magenta, do the fault isolation for the radio management units before continuing with the procedure.
