Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Make the following selections on the CAIMS PMAT:

    • SYSTEM DIAG
    • ATA 34 NAVIGATION
    • INTEGRATED AVIONICS COMPUTER (FMS) (1 for GPS 1 and 2 for GPS 2)
    • LRU TEST
    • Select the LONG RANGE NAV SENSORS - ARINC-429 BUS STATUS TEST
NOTE: Page 2 of 3 shows GNSSU 1 data. Page 3 of 3 shows GNSSU 2 data.

  2. Compare the GNSSU test data shown on the PMAT with the data that follows:
    For the GPS 1:

    MAINTENANCE DISCRETE
    LABEL 2 (OCTAL LABEL 355)
    Built-In Test (BIT) Function Conditions
    27 GNSSU 1 (Internal fault) 0=Good 1=Fault
26 RF Input (Antenna, coaxial cable,
    connectors)
    0=Good 1=Fault
    25 GPS 1 (Internal fault) 0=Good 1=Fault
    24 ARINC-429 Input Bus 1 (IAC/FMS 1) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    23 ARINC-429 Input Bus 2 (IAC/FMS 2) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    22 ARINC-429 Input Bus 3 (MADC 1) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    21 ARINC-429 Input Bus 3 (MADC 2) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    10 Source/Destination Identifier (SDI)
    for GNSSU 1

    9 Source/Destination Identifier (SDI)
    for GNSSU 2
    1

    For the GPS 2:

    MAINTENANCE DISCRETE
    LABEL 2 (OCTAL LABEL 355)
    Built-In Test (BIT) Function Conditions
    27 GNSSU 2 (Internal fault) 0=Good 1=Fault
26 RF Input (Antenna, coaxial cable,
    connectors)
    0=Good 1=Fault
    25 GPS 2 (Internal fault) 0=Good 1=Fault
    24 ARINC-429 Input Bus 2 (IAC/FMS 2) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    23 ARINC-429 Input Bus 1 (IAC/FMS 1) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    22 ARINC-429 Input Bus 3 (MADC 2) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    21 ARINC-429 Input Bus 3 (MADC 1) 0=Good 1=No data transmission
    10 Source/Destination Identifier (SDI)
    for GNSSU 1
    1
    9 Source/Destination Identifier (SDI)
    for GNSSU 2
