Message Description:
The Position Monitor receives position data from the Flight Management System (FMS) 2 and the Global Positioning System (GPS). It calculates the position difference, and compares it to an internal tolerance, the Navigational Control Value (NCV). The message shows when the FMS 2 position difference is more than the NCV tolerance.

- Flight Management System Control-and-Display Unit (FMS CDU) 2 (A38)
- Global Positioning System (GPS)

The FMS 1 (2) (3) GPS MISCOMP message is not an indication of a defect in the system, LRU, or the interface. The message goes off when the FMS 1 (2) (3)/GPS position-difference is not more than the NCV during the applicable time. Thus the fault isolation procedure is not applicable for this message.
