Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

There is no oxygen available at a Crew Mask.

Possible Causes:

  • Third Crew Oxygen Mask (A217)
  • Oxygen Line Pressure Switch (S52)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Set the flow selector lever on the pilot's mask to ON mode, push and hold the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET lever on the stowage box.
  2. Check if the flow indicator changes to yellow and then black after a short time.

    1. If YES, release the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET lever on the stowage box and go to step 4.
    2. If NO, release the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET lever on the stowage box and continue with next step.

  3. Check that the oxygen line is connected correctly.

    1. If the oxygen line is connected correctly, go to step 7.
    2. If the oxygen line is not connected correctly, connect the line correctly and do close out.

  4. Perform the check of the oxygen mask as follows:

    • Carefully remove the mask from the stowage box
    • Put the oxygen mask on your face
    • Close the stowage box to monitor the indicator
    • Set the flow selector on the mask regulator to ON mode
    • check if the indicator changes to yellow when you breathe and change to black when you stop

    1. If the indicator does not change to yellow and black when breathing, go to step 7.
    2. If the indicator changes to yellow and black when breathing, continue with next step.

  5. Set the flow selector on the mask regulator to 100% and check if the indicator change to yellow when you breathe and change to black when you stop.

    1. If the indicator does not change to yellow and black when breathing, go to step 7.
    2. If the indicator changes to yellow and black when breathing, continue with next step.

  6. Turn the PRESS TO TEST Control Knob counterclockwise to the EMERGENCY position. Check if the oxygen flows continuously.

    1. If the oxygen flows continuously, do close out.
    2. If the oxygen does not flow continuously, continue with next step.

  7. Replace Crew Oxygen Mask.
  8. Do close out.
