Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the BLEED−AIR control panel, for the left HPV set the switches that follow:

    Switch Position
    L ENG BLEED AUTO
    R ENG BLEED OFF
    XBLEED OFF
    PACK CONTROL NORM
    R PACK OFF
    ANTI−ICE WING OFF

  2. Perform the following:

    • Start the left engine
    • Set the R ENG THROTTLE until the RH INTERMEDIATE PRESSURE is at 20 PSIG on the screen display PNEUMATIC SYSTEM, BLEED INPUTS
    • Select SYSTEM DIAG mode on the CAIMS MAIN MENU display
    • Select PNEUMATIC on the ATA SELECTION display
    • Select BLEED MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER 2 on the LRU SELECTION display
    • Select the BLEED MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER 2 to the RAW DATA page on the LRU SELECTION display

  3. Check if the R BLEED FAULT message comes ON on the EICAS.

    1. If the HPV shows closed in amber on the EICAS BLEED/ANTI-ICE synoptic page, continue with next step.
    2. If the HPV shows open in amber on the EICAS BLEED/ANTI-ICE synoptic page, go to step 6.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector P708 from the HPV. Perfrom the voltage check as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    P708-1 P708-2 28 VDC

    1. If the voltage is as specified, go to step 8.
    2. If the voltage is not as specified, continue with next step.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connector (A15P3) from the SPDA 3. Perform a continuity check between P708 and A15P3 as follows:

    From To Result
    P708-1 A15P3-K
    P708-2 Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with the next step.

  6. Disconnect the electrical connector P708 from the HPV. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    J708-4 J708-5

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 8.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Perform a continuity check between P708 and the aircraft ground as follows:

    From To Result
    P708-5 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Replace the Right high-pressure-bleed shutoff valve.
  9. Do close out.
