Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Check the Maintenance, Service button on the CES page to confirm the status of the external service door. Is the door sensed open?

    1. If NO, go to step 3.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Perform a visual inspection of the external service door. Is the door open?

    1. If YES, close it and do close out.
    2. If NO, troubleshoot the external service door indication system and do close out.

  3. Verify the color of the flush switch:

    1. If the switch is AMBER (flushing), go to step 5.
    2. If the switch is RED (inop), go to step 6.
    3. If the flush switch is not lit, go to step 7.
    4. If the switch is GREEN (ready), continue with next step.

  4. Disconnect the toilet Flush Control Unit (FCU) P2 connector, press the flush switch, perform the continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P2-3 P2-5

    1. If there is continuity, replace FCU or toilet assembly and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, replace the flush switch and do close out.

  5. Cycle the toilet CB, if still amber, disconnect the FCU P2 and ensure that you have an open circuit with the switch not pressed as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    P2-3 P2-5 Open

    1. If there is continuity, replace defective switch and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, replace FCU or toilet assembly and do close out.

  6. Check Galley touchscreen, maintenance, diagnostic for any waste system related fault.

    1. If faults are displayed, refer to SmartFix Plus troubleshooting by observed fault chapter 44 and do close out.
    2. If no faults are displayed, continue with next step.

  7. Verify the logic control module (LCM) status lights.

    1. If the status lights are lit, go to step 9.
    2. If the status lights are not lit, continue with next step.

  8. Check LCM power with a lamp test. Is the LCM powered?

    1. If NO, troubleshoot power source (DCPDE 4) and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  9. Check power to the flush control Unit on P2-4.

    1. If power is present, replace FCU or toilet assembly and do close out.
    2. If power is not present, continue with next step

  10. Perform wiring check between LCM and FCU.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, replace LCM and continue with next step.

  11. Pull the manual flush handle and push back, was there vacuum?

    1. If vacuum is present, replace the toilet Assy and do close out.
    2. If vacuum is not present, continue with next step.

  12. Disconnect the vacuum generator B550P1. Verify for 115 VAC on each phase.

    1. If power is present on all 3 phases, replace the vacuum generator and do close out.
    2. If power is missing or low on one or more phase, continue with next step.

  13. Gain access to the Vacuum generator relay, located in baggage area under floor 252DRF close to the ACPDE 3. With the cabin powered, ensure you have power on X1 and a good ground on X2.

    1. You have good power on X1 and ground on X2, go to step 18.
    2. No power on X1, troubleshoot the power source per SWM and continue with next step.
    3. No ground on X2, continue with next step.

  14. Gain access to the vacuum switch S690, in the aft lavatory. Disconnect S690P1, perform the continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    S690P1-B S690P1-C

    1. If there is no continuity, replace the switch and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  15. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    S690P1-B Ground

    1. If there is continuity, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, Repair wiring or replace switch as required.

  16. Perform wiring check between S690 and K600.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  17. Perform a continuity check of the aft lav servicing panel switch S84 with the door closed as follows:

    From To Result
    S84-4 S84-6

    1. If there is no continuity, repair defective switch and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  18. Check power input to K600 on A1 (W), B1 (B), and C1 (O).

    1. If there is power input, do close out.
    2. No input, continue with next step.
    3. If you have 115 VAC, verify the output on A2, B2 and C2.

  19. Perform wiring check between K600 and ACPDE 3.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, troubleshoot power source and continue with next step.

  20. Perform the 115 VAC voltage check at K600 and verify the output on A2, B2 and C2.

    1. If no output at K600 A2, B2 and C2, go to step 22.
    2. If you have output at K600 A2, B2 and C2, continue with next step.

  21. Perform the wiring check between K600 and Vacuum generator.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  22. Replace K600.
  23. Do close out.
