Message Description:
During Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) operation, the Inlet Door was not in the correct position, or was not in the fully closed position after the APU was stopped.
Possible Causes:
- Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
- Linear Actuator (A199)
- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Start Contactor Assembly (A48)
- Associated Wiring
Troubleshooting Tips:

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- On the CAIMS PMAT, get access to the active faults.
- If the fault message FADEC CONTROLLER shows on the CAIMS PMAT, go to step 12.
- If APU DOOR FAIL (Caution) show on the EICAS primary display, continue with next step.
- Examine the inlet door for blockage.
- If the inlet door has blockage, remove the blockage from the inlet door and do close out.
- If the inlet door has no blockage, continue with next step.
- Start the APU and operate the APU with no load for a minimum of two minutes.
- Perform an APU shutdown (normal).
- If APU DOOR FAIL (Caution) does not show on the EICAS primary display, do close out.
- If APU DOOR FAIL (Caution) still show on the EICAS primary display, continue with next step.
- Examine the linear actuator (A199) receptacle for contamination and damage.
- If linear actuator (A199) receptacle has contamination or damage, replace linear actuator (A199) and do close out.
- If linear actuator (A199) receptacle has no contamination or damage, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check as follows:
From To Expected Result Result A199-A Ground >1 Megaohm A199-C Ground >1 Megaohm - If the resistance values are not as specified, repair as required and do close out.
- If the resistance values are as specified, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between APU (P803) and Linear actuator (A199P1).
- If the wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check as follows:
From To Expected Result Result A199P1-A Ground >1 Megaohm A199P1-B Ground >1 Megaohm A199P1-C Ground >1 Megaohm A199P1-D Ground >1 Megaohm - If the resistance values are not as specified, repair as required and do close out.
- If the resistance values are as specified, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J803-L Ground <3 Ohms A48P1-e Ground <3 Ohms - If the resistance values are not as specified, repair as required and do close out.
- If the resistance values are as specified, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J803-E Ground <3 Ohms J803-F Ground <3 Ohms A108BP1-C4 Ground <3 Ohms A108BP1-D4 Ground <3 Ohms - If the resistance values are not as specified, repair as required and do close out.
- If the resistance values are as specified, continue with next step.
- Perform a resistance check as follows:
From To Expected Result Result J803-E Ground >1 Megaohm J803-F Ground >1 Megaohm - If the resistance values are not as specified, repair as required and do close out.
- If the resistance values are as specified, continue with next step.
- Replace FADEC.
- Do close out.
