Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform the general visual inspection of the engines - internal.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform the detailed inspection of the fuel manifold.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform the low pressure (LP) compressor (fan) trim balance procedure.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the fuel tube 20. Is the N1 VIB indication still present on the EICAS primary display?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  5. Check if the engine was shutdown in flight or the engine had shedding/ingestion of ice or the engine had bird strike or foreign object damage.

    1. If the engine had shedding/ingestion of ice, go to 7.
    2. If the engine had a bird strike or foreign object damage, go to step 8.
    3. If the engine was shutdown in flight, continue with next step.

  6. Perform the detailed inspection of the engine after inflight shutdown.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, go to step 9.

  7. Perform the detailed inspection of the engine after shedding/ingestion of ice.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, go to step 9.

  8. Perform the detailed inspection of the engine after bird strike.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  9. When the condition of the engine is satisfactory, perform a power assurance check.
