Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The AFT Trim Air Valve (L19) position does not agree with the Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 1 command.

Possible Causes:

  • AFT Trim Air Valve (TAV) (L19)
  • Junction Box (JB5)
  • Secondary Power Distribution Assembly (SPDA) 2 (A14)
  • Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 1 (A87)
  • Bleed Air Control Panel (AP8)
  • Trim Air Switch (SDS6)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Swap AFT Trim Air Valve with FWD Trim Air Valve.

    1. If the system checks are good, replace AFT Trim Air Valve and do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap SPDA 2 with SPDA 3.

    1. If the system checks are good, replace SPDA 2 and do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Swap ACSC 1 with ACSC 2.

    1. If the system checks are good, replace ACSC 1 and do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Perform continuity check of JB5.

    1. If there is no continuity, replace JB5 and do close out.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Check K9 and K22 for correct operation.
  6. Perform a wiring check of wires between AFT TAV and JB5.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  7. Perform a wiring check of wires between JB5 and ACSC1.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. Perform a wiring check of wires between JB5 and Bleed Air Control Panel Trim Air Switch.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  9. Check Trim Air Control Panel.

    1. If the system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If the fault remains, continue with next step.

  10. Replace Bleed Air Control Panel.
  11. Do close out.
