Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Cockpit Duct Temperature Sensor detected out of range by Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 2 Channel B.

Possible Causes:

  • Cockpit Duct Temperature Sensor (E28)
  • Air Conditioning System Controller (ACSC) 2 (A88)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin:

  • AW700-21-0160 - "PACK FAULT" CAS message while CAIMS / OMS is active

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Access CAIMS ASCA#2A or 2B, Trim & Cabin Temp Sensor Data.
  2. Review cockpit sensor value.
  3. Swap Cockpit Duct Temperature Sensor with Cabin Duct Temp Sensor.

    1. If system checks are good, replace the Cockpit Duct Temperature Sensor and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a wiring checks between Cockpit Duct Temperature Sensor and ACSC 2.

    1. If the wiring checks are not good, repair the defective associated wiring and do close out.
    2. If the wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Replace ACSC 2.
  6. Close out.
