Fault Description:
A phase to phase short circuit on Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Generator and Permanent Magnet Generator has been detected by Generator Control Unit (GCU) continuous monitoring build test.
Possible Causes:
- Auxiliary Power Unit Generator Control Unit (APU GCU) (A109)
- Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Generator (A110)
- Associated Wiring

A GCU patch cable (GSE REF # 24X-24-02) can be used to swap the GCU 1, the GCU 4 and the APU GCU into position 2 or 3 (for troubleshooting only). You can monitor the GCU fault in CAIMS via the active faults page.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Swap the APU GCU with the GCU#2 (physically or using the GCU patch cable).
- If system checks are good, replace APU GCU and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Disconnect connector APU GCU (A109P1) and APU GEN (A110P1).
- Perform wiring checks (short circuit = failure) between APU GCU.
From To Result A110P1-C Ground A110P1-G Ground A110P1-L Ground - If wiring checks are good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace APU Generator.
- Do close out.
