Fault Description:
Generator Control Unit (GCU) 3 has received a Generator Line Contactor (GLC) Inhibit (GLC INH) signal from the AC Power Center (ACPC) or has detected a failure in its internal GLC inhibit sensing circuit.
Possible Causes:
- AC Power Center (ACPC) (A54)
- Generator Control Unit (GCU) 3 (A58)
- Primary Logic Card (PLC) 1
- Primary Logic Card (PLC) 2
- Primary Logic Card (PLC) 3
- Associated Wiring
Troubleshooting Tips:
Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None
Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None
A GCU patch cable (GSE REF # 24X-24-02) can be used to swap GCUs 1, 4 and 5 into position 2 or 3 (for troubleshooting only).
The GCU NVMs can only be downloaded at position #2 or #3.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Swap GCU 3 with GCU 2.
- If system checks are good, replace the GCU 3 and do close out.
- If system checks are not good, continue with next step.
- Remove PLC 1.
- If fault is no longer present, install a new PLC in the 1 position and do close out.
- If fault is still present, re-install PLC 1 and continue with next step.
- Remove PLC 2.
- If fault is no longer present, install a new PLC in the 2 position and do close out.
- If fault is still present, re-install PLC 2 and continue with next step.
- Remove PLC 3.
- If fault is no longer present, install a new PLC in the 3 position and do close out.
- If system checks are good, re-install PLC 3 and continue with next step.
- Remove PLC 1, PLC 2 and PLC 3. On GCU 3, disconnect connector A58P2. On connector A58P2, using a multi-meter, perform wiring checks on connector A58P2 as follow:
From To Result A58P2-29 Ground - If the ground short fault is no longer present, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If the ground short fault is detected, continue with next step.
- On ACPC, disconnect connector A54P3. On connector A58P2, using a multi-meter, perform wiring checks on connector A58P2 as follow:
From To Result A58P2-29 Ground - If the ground short fault is still present, repair or replace the wire harness between GCU 3 and the ACPC and do close out.
- If the ground short fault is no longer present, continue with next step.
- Replace ACPC.
- Do close out.
