Message Overview:

Fault Message:

DCPC BATT BUS FAILED

Fault Code:

2460505DCP

Associated CAS:

ELEC SYS FAIL
(Caution)

Reporting LRU: DC Power Center (DCPC)
System Description: 24-60-00
Schematic Diagram: 24-61-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 24-61-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

Two conditions:

  1. BATT BUS is not powered.
  2. BATT BUS is isolated by the Primary Logic Cards (PLCs) due to BUS fault detection.

Possible Causes:

  • Contactor (K3)
  • Contactor (K5)
  • Electronic Module (EM4)
  • Secondary-Power Distribution (SPDA) Feeder Assembly BATT BUS Card
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) (A63)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

NOTE: A K5 (ETC) failure will only show itself when at least one TRU is failed.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Does this failure only occur when a TRU is failed or off?

    1. If NO, go to step 3.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Access DCPC contactor assembly. Perform a voltage check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    K5-B1 Ground
    K5-B2 Ground

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, replace K5 and do close out.
    2. If there is 28 VDC, go to step 5.

  3. Access DCPC contactor assembly. Power on the A/C and make sure ESS TRU 2 is powered. Perform a voltage check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    K3-A1 Ground

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, troubleshoot the wiring between ESS TRU 2 and the DCPC and do close out.
    2. If there is 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  4. Remove electrical power from the aircraft. Perform a voltage check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    K3-A2 Ground

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, replace K3 and do close out.
    2. If there is voltage, continue with next step.

  5. Disconnect EM4 connector P407. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P407-12 Ground
    P407-15 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  6. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P407-12 K3-A2
    P407-15 K3-A2

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  7. Remove the BATT SPDA FEEDER CARD. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P407-13 Ground
    P407-16 Ground
    P407-11 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P431A-8 P407-13
    P431A-9 P407-16
    P431A-10 P407-11

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 11.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  9. Swap the BATT SPDA FEEDER with DC BUS 2 SPDA FEEDER Card. Does the fault follow the card?

    1. If YES, replace BATT SPDA FEEDER and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  10. Replace EM4.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Replace DCPC.
  12. Do close out.
