Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Overview:

Fault Message:

DCPC SSPC#1-K7 POWER UP FAILED

Fault Code:

2463003DCP

Associated CAS:

ELEC SYS FAIL
(Caution)

Reporting LRU: DC Power Center (DCPC)
System Description: 24-60-00
Schematic Diagram: 24-61-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 24-61-01 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

DC Power Center (DCPC) Solid State Power Controller (SSPC) 1 status does not agree with its commanded state, the power on test will fail. If SSPC 1 status and its commanded state are in agreement, but voltage is still present on the SSPC output, the power on test will fail. This is the scenario when short circuit fault is developed in SSPC 1 or its associated power Diode D1.

Possible Causes:

  • Solid State Power Controller (SSPC) 1
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Diode (D1)
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 1
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 2
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 3
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) (A63)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

SSPC1 Failed - Flight Deck Effect: Some or all loads on DC Bus 1 will turn off momentarily during any TRU reconfiguration.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Get access to the active faults. Is DCPC DIODE #1 (D1) FAILED message posted?

    1. If the message is posted, go to step 11.
    2. If the message is not posted, continue with next step.

  2. Disconnect SSPC1 connector P103 and remove PLC 1, PLC 2 and PLC 3.
  3. Perform a continuity check with the connections that follows:

    From To Results
    P103-4 Ground
    P103-12 Ground
    P103-3 Ground
    P103-6 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 10.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  4. Perform a continuity check with the connections that follows:

    From To Results
    P103-10 Ground
    P103-11 Ground
    P103-5 Ground
    P103-7 SSPC1-LINE

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 10.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  5. Replace SSPC 1.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Re-install PLC 2 and PLC 3.

    1. If system checks are good, go to step 9.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Replace PLC 2.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace PLC 3.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  9. Replace PLC 1.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  10. Replace DCPC.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Remove bus bar (item 519) and re-install the voltage sense wires (terminal lug) to the original position.
  12. Apply power and check if the DCPC DIODE 1 (D1) FAILED message is posted?

    1. If the message is not posted, do close out.
    2. If the message is posted, continue with next step.

  13. Replace diode D1 (refer to 2460446 DCP DCPC DIODE 1 (D1) FAILED).
  14. Do close out.
