Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the DC synoptic page, make sure ESS TRU2 icon is green and is supplying 28 VDC.
  2. Get access to the DCPC contactor K3.
  3. Disconnect contactor K3 connector P404.
  4. In the cockpit, turn the BATT MSTR SW to ON.
  5. Perform a check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    P404-1 Ground
    P404-2 Ground

    1. If there is 28 VDC, go to step 8.
    2. If there is no 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  6. Disconnect EM4 connector P407. Perform a check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    P407-23 Ground

    1. If there is 28 VDC, continue with next step.
    2. If there is no 28 VDC, go to step 16.

  7. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P407-25 P404-1

    1. If there is continuity, replace EM4 and continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, go to step 16.

  8. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P404-5 Ground
    P404-7 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair defective wiring and continue with next step.
    2. If there is no continuity, go to step 16.

  9. Remove PLC 1, PLC 2 and PLC 3.
  10. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P404-6 Ground
    P404-8 Ground
    P404-22 Ground
    P404-3 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 16.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  11. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    P404-3 P110C-27
    P404-6 P110A-21
    P404-8 P110B-13
    P404-22 P110C-21
    P404-3 P210C-27
    P404-6 P210A-21
    P404-8 P210B-13
    P404-22 P210C-21
    P404-3 P310C-27
    P404-6 P310A-21
    P404-8 P310B-13
    P404-22 P310C-21

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 16.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  12. Install PLC 2 and PLC 3. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If NO, install PLC 1 and continue with next step.
    2. If YES, replace PLC 1 and do close out.

  13. Remove PLC 2. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, replace PLC 2 and do close out.
    2. If NO, install PLC 2 and continue with next step.

  14. Remove PLC 3. Is the fault resolved?

    1. If YES, replace PLC 3 and do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  15. Replace K3.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  16. Replace DCPC.
  17. Do close out.
