Fault Description:

DC Power Center (DCPC) power on test will exercise one time the Transformer Rectifier Unit (TRU) Transfer Contactor (TTC) 1 side (K1) and compare the status with the commanded state. If they match the Contactor K1 is functional.

Possible Causes:

  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Contactor (K1)
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) Motherboard
  • DC Power Center (DCPC) (A63)
  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Filter
  • Electronic Module (EM1)
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 1
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 2
  • Primary Logic Card (PLC) 3

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Get access to the DCPC contactor K1.
  2. Disconnect contactor K1 connector P104.
  3. In the cockpit, turn the BATT MSTR SW to ON.
  4. Perform a check for 28 VDC as follows:

    From To Result
    P104-1 Ground
    P104-2 Ground

    1. If there is no 28 VDC, go to step 14.
    2. If there is 28 VDC, continue with next step.

  5. Perform a wiring checks between AC Battery bus to EMI.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. In the cockpit, turn the BATT MSTR SW to OFF.
  7. Perform a continuity check between K1 and ground as follows:

    From To Result
    P104-5 Ground
    P104-7 Ground

    1. If there is no continuity, go to step 14.
    2. If there is continuity, continue with next step.

  8. Remove PLC 1, PLC 2 and PLC 3.
  9. Perform a continuity check with the connections that follows:

    From To Result
    P104-6 Ground
    P104-8 Ground
    P104-22 Ground
    P104-3 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, go to step 14.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  10. Replace contactor K1.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  11. Re-install PLC 2 and PLC 3.

    1. If system checks are good, replace PLC 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  12. Replace PLC 2.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  13. Replace PLC 3.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
