This message shows when the Fire Detection and Extinguishing Control Unit (FIDEEX CU) senses that the Avionics Bay Smoke Detector 6 is defective or both the Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 and FIDEEX do not receive the alarm signal.

NOTE: If both sides (DAU 3 and FIDEEX) are not receiving the alarm, this condition will display an EICAS FAIL message: SMOKE CLOSET FAIL (Amber).

1. Measure for 28 VDC at Smoke Detector 6 (A221P1).

   1. If there is 28 VDC, go to step 4.
   2. If there is no 28 VDC, continue with next step.

2. Perform a wiring check between FIDEEX Control Unit (A106P2) and Smoke Detector 6 (A221P1).

   A221P1-E	Ground

   1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
   2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

3. Replace the FIDEEX Control Unit. Is the fault still present?

   1. If YES, continue with next step.
   2. If NO, do close out.

4. Perform a wiring check between Smoke Detector 6 (A221P1) and DAU 3 (A30BP1) as follows:
   

   From	To	Result
   A221P1-F	A30BP1-D11

   1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
   2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

5. Swap DAU 3 with DAU 4. Is the fault still present?

   1. If YES, continue with next step.
   2. If NO, replace defective DAU.

6. Replace Smoke Detector 6.
7. Do close out.
