Associated CAS:

SLAT FLAP BIT
(Advisory)

Reporting LRU: Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU)
System Description: 27-51-00
Schematic Diagram: 27-50-00 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
Wiring Diagram: 32-31-04 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]
32-31-05 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

One of the conditions that follow occurs:

  • The Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) does not receive discrete Weight-On-Wheels (WOW) input from the Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU)
  • The discrete WOW signal input does not agree with the WOW input from the Data Acquisition Unit (DAU)

Possible Causes:

  • Landing Gear Electronic Control Unit (LGECU) (A52)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

Discrete status output being reported to the SFCU 1 and 2 can be monitored by accessing CAIMS:

  1. SYSTEM DIAG
  2. 32-00 LANDING GEAR
  3. LDG GEAR ELEC CTRL UNIT A (B)
  4. LRU TEST
  5. LGECU A DISCRETE OUTPUT DATA DISPLAYS1-5 screen 2
  6. LGECU B DISCRETE OUTPUT DATA DISPLAYS1-3 screen 1

This fault may be posted due to the SFCU powering up prior to the LGECU. This fault will clear automatically when the LGECU powers up and provides an input.

    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap SFCUs.

    1. If system checks are good, replace defective SFCU and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between SFCUs and LGECU as follow:

    From To Result
    A124AP1-83 A52BP1-J10
    A95AP1-83 A52BP1-A10

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
