Fault Description:
The Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) has detected a failure condition in the Slat Motor Brake Circuit for one of the following reasons:
- There is an open circuit condition in the Power Drive Unit (PDU) Motor/Brake Drive
- The outputs to the slat motor brake do not agree with inputs from the Slats Brake Drive
Possible Causes:
- Slat Power Drive Unit (PDU) Motor 1 (B13)
- Slat Power Drive Unit (PDU) Motor 2 (B14)
- Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
- Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
- Associated Wiring

There are alternative ways to clear the fault:
- On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run. - Moving the SFCL to another detent.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
Fault reported by SFCU 1:
- Swap SFCU 1 with SFCU 2.
- If system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Measure the impedance at SFCU 1 (A124CP1) as follow:
From To Expected Result Result A124CP1-60 A124CP1-61 53.1 to 64.9 Ohms - If resistance is within range, go to step 4.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between SFCU 1 and Slat PDU motor connector.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace Slat PDU motors.
- Do close out.
Fault reported by SFCU 2:
- Swap SFCU 2 with SFCU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace SFCU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Measure the impedance at SFCU 2 (A95CP1) as follow:
From To Expected Result Result A95CP1-60 A95CP1-61 53.1 to 64.9 Ohms - If resistance is within range, go to step 4.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between SFCU 2 and Slat PDU motor connector.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace Slat PDU motors.
- Do close out.
