Fault Description:

The Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) has detected an over current condition in the Slat Motor Brake Circuit.

Possible Causes:

  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Slat Power Drive Unit (PDU) Motor 1 (B13)
  • Slat Power Drive Unit (PDU) Motor 2 (B14)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

There are alternative ways to clear the fault:

  1. On the EMS CDU, select CTRL function and SLAT/FLAP RESET.
NOTE: Wait at least one minute after SFCU reset to allow self-test to run.
  2. Moving the SFCL to another detent.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

Fault reported by SFCU 1:

  1. Swap SFCU 1 and SFCU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 1 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Measure the impedance at SFCU 1 (A124CP1) as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A124CP1-60 A124CP1-61 53.1 to 64.9 Ohms

    1. If resistance is within range, go to step 4.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between SFCU 1 and Slat PDU motor connector.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Slat PDU motor 1.
  5. Do close out.

Fault reported by SFCU 2:

  1. Swap SFCU 2 with SFCU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace SFCU 2 and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Measure the impedance at SFCU 2 (A95CP1) as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A95CP1-60 A95CP1-61 53.1 to 64.9 ohms

    1. If resistance is within range, go to step 4.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between SFCU 2 and Slat PDU motor connector.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace Slat PDU motor 2.
  5. Do close out.
