RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) cannot internally validate one or more of the critical ARINC 429 communication transmission labels.

Possible Causes:

  • Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
  • Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Slat/Flap Control Handle (SFCH)
  • Slat Left Resolver
  • Slat Right Resolver
  • Flap Left Resolver
  • Flap Right Resolver

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

The message can be related to an internal SFCU failure if it is not posted at the same time as one of these CAIMS faults:

  1. SFCH/Wiring problem
  2. Slat left resolver fault
  3. Slat right resolver fault
  4. Flap left resolver fault
  5. Flap right resolver fault

If one of the above CAIMS faults are posted with this message, perform the applicable fault isolation task for that message.
