RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

There is a bad communication in the MIL-STD-1553 interface between Slat/Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 and SFCU 2. This shows when there is disagreement between the input source of the cross channel communication.

Possible Causes:

  • Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks of the MIL-1553 interface between SFCU 1 and SFCU 2 as follow:

    A124AP1-74 A95AP1-73
    A124AP1-61 A95AP1-60
    A124AP1-73 A95AP1-74
    A124AP1-60 A95AP1-61

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  2. Replace SFCU 2.
  3. Do close out.
