Fault Description:
From the offside Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) when the rigging of the Flap System is incorrect. The transmitted data from the Data Acquisition Units (DAU) does not compare with the data stored in the SFCU nonvolatile memory for the conditions that follow:
- Out of tolerance rigging data
- Dates that do not agree
- Serial numbers that do not agree
This includes verification of the data transmitted from the onside SFCU.
Possible Causes:
- Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 1 (A124)
- Slat Flap Control Unit (SFCU) 2 (A95)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Confirm the A/C identification is correct in CAIMS.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- If both SFCU's are reporting that the flaps are not rigged, perform a complete rigging of the flap system. It is important to perform the electrical rigging on the SFCU that is not reporting the fault because this will confirm the MIL-STD-1553 interface.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap SFCUs.
- If system checks are good, replace defective SFCU and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform a flap electrical rigging on the SFCU that was not reporting the fault.
- Do close out.
