WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

A Flight Control Module in Flight Control Unit (FCU) 2 does not receive power during the CAIMS Interface Test.

Possible Causes:

  • Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 2 (A66)
  • Secondary Power Distribution Assembly (SPDA) 3 (A15)
  • Secondary Power Distribution Assembly (SPDA) 4 (A16)
  • Associated Wiring

  6. Confirm

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Re-rack FCU 2.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Swap FCU 2 with FCU 1.

    1. If system checks are good, replace FCU 2. Reset FCUs latched faults and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Measure for 28 VDC at FCU 2 and confirm voltage is not fluctuating.

    A66CP1-7 28 VDC
    A66FP1-11 28 VDC
    A66FP1-7 28 VDC

    1. If checks are good, do close out.
    2. If any of the checks fails, continue with next step.

  4. Confirm/Measure steady 28 VDC from corresponding SPDA by removing pin from SPDA's connector as follow:

    From To Expected Result Result
    A66CP1-11 A15P3-f 28 VDC
    A66CP1-7 Ground 28 VDC
    A66FP1-11 A16P3-p 28 VDC
    A66FP1-7 Ground 28 VDC

    1. If check fails, go to step 6.
    2. If checks are good, continue.

  5. Perform wiring checks between FCU and corresponding SPDA.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  6. Replace defective SPDA.
  7. Do close out.
