Fault Description:
There is an incorrect status of the Roll Disconnect Switch.
Possible Causes:
- Roll Disconnect Switch (S35)
- Flight Control Unit (FCU) 1 (A65)
- Flight-Control Unit (FCU) 2 (A66)
- Associated Wiring

The roll disconnect switch can be monitor in CAIMS at this location:
- SYSTEM DIAG.
- 27-00 FLIGHT CONTROLS.
- FLIGHT CONTROL UNIT #1(2).
- LRU TEST.
- DISPLAY MISC. & SENSORS STATUS.
- CONFIRM.
- CONFIRM.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Perform a visual inspection of the roll disconnect Assembly, make sure the reset piston to engage the roll disconnect mechanism is engaged.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Hold the copilot handwheel and turn the pilot handwheel until the disconnect mechanism disengage. Re-engage the reset piston and confirm if the fault is still present.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform open/short to ground checks at FCUs.
- If the checks are good, go to step 6.
- If any of the checks fails, continue with next step.
Handwheel FCU Roll Disconnect Switch Normal Status Disconnected A65AP1-9B S35-2 (Wire TAD4508) shorted to ground Connected A65AP1-9B S35-2 (Wire TAD4508) open to ground Disconnected A66AP1-9B S35-5 (Wire TAD4508) shorted to ground Connected A66AP1-9B S35-5 (Wire TAD4508) open to ground
- Perform wiring checks between FCU 1/FCU 2 and roll disconnect switch.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace roll disconnect switch.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace defective FCU and reset FCUs latched faults.
- Do close out.
