Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

L AFT AC BST PUMP/PRES SWITCH/WRG FL shows on the CAIMS PMAT when the conditions that follow occur:

  • The Left Aft Pump command is on
  • The Left Aft Pump pressure-indication is low

OR

  • The Left Aft Pump command is off
  • The Left Aft Pump pressure-indication is high

NOTE: If both of the CAIMS messages L AFT AC BST PUMP/PRES SWITCH/WRG FL and L AFT AC BOOST PUMP LMS/WRG FAULT show, troubleshoot with L AFT AC BOOST PUMP LMS/WRG FAULT page first.

Possible Causes:

  • Left Aft AC Boost Pump Pressure-Switch (S10)
  • Left Aft AC Boost Pump Cartridge (B7)
  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Left Aft Pump Canister
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Remove the FMQGC and inspect all connectors and pins on the unit and A/C side. Rerack the FMQGC and make sure it is fully and properly pushed into place. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Perform a wiring check between the left aft AC boost pump pressure switch and the FMQGC. Look for continuity, short circuit and high resistance.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Swap the left aft AC boost pump pressure switch with the left fwd AC boost pump pressure switch. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If NO, replace the left aft AC boost pump pressure switch and do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the FMQGC.
  5. Do close out.
