Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

Left Aft Boost-Pump pressure is high and low at the same time.

Possible Causes:

  • Left Aft AC Boost-Pump Pressure-Switch (S10)
  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect connector S10P1 (LEFT AFT BP PRESS SW). Perform a continuity check on the pressure switch side as follows:

    From To Result
    S10P1-G GS283
    S10P1-A GS283

    1. If there is continuity, replace the left aft boost-pump pressure-switch and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.

  2. Remove the FMQGC. Perform a continuity check as follows:

    From To Result
    A47AP1-E12 Ground
    A47AP1-F12 Ground

    1. If there is continuity, repair or replace the defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If there is no continuity, continue with next step.

  3. Rerack the FMQGC making sure it is fully and properly inserted into place. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the FMQGC.
  5. Do close out.
