Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Check for 28 VDC at the right wing DC auxiliary pump (B24P1).
- If voltage is not there, go to step 7.
- If voltage is there, continue with next step.
NOTE: To turn on the pump, the right ENGINE RUN switch must be set to ON, R AUX PUMPS switch/light set to ON (Pushed out), and R PRIM PUMPS switch/light to OFF (Pushed in).
- Perform wiring check (Open to ground = fail) between the right wing DC auxiliary pump (B24P1) and ground stud (GS314) (GS322).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Replace the right wing DC auxiliary pump cartridge.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange the Right DC auxiliary pump with Left DC auxiliary pump.
- If system checks are good, replace Right DC auxiliary pump and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between right wing DC auxiliary-pump pressure-switch (S17P1), ground stud (GS311), and FMQGC (A47DP1).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Interchange the Right wing DC auxiliary pump pressure switch (S17) with Left wing DC auxiliary pump pressure switch (S11).
- If system checks are good, replace Right wing DC auxiliary pump pressure switch and do close out.
- If fault remains, go to step 18.
NOTE: It is possible to use one of the right wing AC boost-pump pressure-switch.
- Perform wiring check between the SPDA 3 (A15P1) and right wing DC auxiliary pump (B24P1).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Operate the right wing DC auxiliary pump (B24) and monitor the result by selecting SPDA 3 IN via EMS CDU1 (CDU2) signboard Menu:
Left Column Center Column Label 300 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 22 21 20 19 18 17 16 15 14 X X X X Reference Right DC Aux Pump Status Right DC Aux Pump Status - If the manual operation of the right DC auxiliary pump agree with the pump status, go to step 18.
- If 1XX0 = SSPC Fail (Can't turn On) (Can't turn Off) is shown, go to step 16.
- If X1XX (On (V&I) < 20%) is shown when pump is manually commanded ON, continue with next step.
- If 0011 = On (V&I) > 20% is shown when pump is manually commanded OFF, continue with next step.
- If 0000 (L AUX PUMP OFF) is shown when pump is manually commanded ON, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring check between EMS CDU 1 (A94P2), FUEL control panel (AP5P2), right aft boost pump pressure switch (S16P1), TQA (AP41P3) and ground module (GM9).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
NOTE: When the R ENG RUN switch is set to ON and the R PRIM PUMPS switch/light is set to OFF, a ground is sent to EMS CDU 1 (A94P2).
- Perform wiring check between EMS CDU 2 (A91P2), FUEL control panel (AP5P2), right forward boost pump pressure switch (S15P1), TQA (AP41P3) and ground module (GM9).
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
NOTE: When the R ENG RUN switch is set to ON and the R PRIM PUMPS switch/light is set to OFF, a ground is sent to EMS CDU 2 (A91P2).
- Interchange the R AUX PUMP switch/light (SDS5) with Left AUX PUMP switch/light (SDS1).
- If system checks are good, replace R AUX PUMP switch/light and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange the Right aft boost pump pressure switch (S16) with Left aft boost pump pressure switch (S10).
- If system checks are good, replace Right aft boost pump pressure switch and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange the Right forward boost pump pressure switch (S15) with Left forward boost pump pressure switch (S9).
- If system checks are good, replace Right forward boost pump pressure switch and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace the FUEL control panel (AP5).
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace the TQA (AP41).
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange the EMS CDU 2 with EMS CDU 1.
- If system checks are good, replace EMS CDU 2 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange the SPDA 3 (A15) with SPDA 2 (A14).
- If system checks are good, replace SPDA 3 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Select the FMQGC A (B)-CH A (B) DC (FEED) PUMPS TEST page, via the OMS. Follow the instruction to operate the right DC (FEED) pump, make sure the results that follow are met:
Operation Pump On Pump OFF RIGHT DC PUMP COMMAND CHOICE TURN ON TURN OFF RIGHT DC PUMP PRESSURE Not low Low - If all the above right wing DC auxiliary pump operations are met or if FMQGC channels are in disagreement, go to step 20.
- If the RIGHT DC PUMP COMMAND CHOICE status disagree with the pump operation, continue with the next step.
