Wiring Diagram: 28-22-02 [ Global Express ]  [ G5000 ]  [ Global XRS ]

Fault Description:

R CNTR TRNS PMP PRES SWITCH/WRG FLT shows on the CAIMS PMAT when both Right Center Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch status are high or low at the same time.

The Pressure Switch contacts and signals to the Fuel Management Quantity and Gauging Computer (FMQGC) have two status. One is normally shorted to ground and the other is open. They have to be complimentary otherwise the FMQGC will consider the switch failed.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Center Transfer-Pump Pressure-Switch (S20)
  • Fuel Management and Quantity Gauging Computer (FMQGC) (A47)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Go to CENTER TRANSFER TEST page via PMAT to turn on Right Center Transfer Pump.
  2. Check Pump Status/Active Faults data as table below:

    Reference Indication
Pump Status RIGHT XFER PUMP PRESSURE Not Low (Hi)
Active Faults R XFER PRESSURE SWITCH FAIL STATUS Normal

    1. If the pressure is high, go to step 9.
    2. If the pressure is normal, continue with next step.

  3. Check pressure switch contacts at connector S20P1 as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    S20P1-G S20P1-H Closed
    S20P1-A S20P1-H Open

    1. If the checks are not good, go to step 9.
    2. If the checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks as follow:

    From To Expected Result Result
    S20P1-H GS427 Closed
    S20P1-A Ground Open
    S20P1-G A47DP1-A12 Closed

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Turn off Right Center Transfer Pump.
  6. Check Pump Status/Active Faults data as table below:

    Reference Indication
Pump Status RIGHT XFER PUMP PRESSURE Low
Active Faults R XFER PRESSURE SWITCH FAIL STATUS Normal

    1. If the pressure is low, do close out.
    2. If the pressure is normal, continue with next step.

  7. Check pressure switch contacts at connector S20P1 as follows:

    From To Expected Result Result
    S20P1-A S20P1-H Closed
    S20P1-G S20P1-H Open

    1. If the checks are not good, go to 9.
    2. If the checks are good, continue with next step.

  8. Perform wiring checks as follow:

    From To Expected Result Result
    S20P1-H GS427 Closed
    S20P1-G Ground Open
    S20P1-A A47DP1-B12 Closed

    1. If wiring checks are good, go to step 10.
    2. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.

  9. Swap right center transfer-pump pressure-switch with left center transfer-pump pressure-switch.

    1. If system checks are good, replace right center transfer-pump pressure-switch and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  10. Replace FMQGC.
  11. Do close out.
