Fault Description:
The temperature of the Hydraulic Fluid of the Hydraulic System 3 is above 205 °F (96 °C).
Possible Causes:
- AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 3A Switch (S2)
- AC Motor Pump (ACMP) 3B Switch (S3)
- Hydraulic Heat-Exchanger Bypass-Valve
- Hydraulic System 3 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT144)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 3 (A30)
- Associated Wiring

When replacing the pressure filters, a hydraulic lock has been known to prevent new filter installation. A "B" nut next to the filter manifold may need to be loosened or removed to bleed off pressure and allow the installation of the filter.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Carry out a quantity check of the hydraulic system 3.
- If low quantity found, service system, check system for leak and do close out.
- If quantity is good continue with next step.
- Ensure fuel is present in the wing(s).
NOTE: Hydraulic system 3 fluid heat exchanger is located at the bottom of the left wing fuel tank. Low fuel quantity in the left wing fuel tank can cause high hydraulic fluid temperature. - Operate ACMP 3A and 3B individually and note temperature indication.
- If high (above normal range) temperatures are noted with either pump, replace pump and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace Hydraulic System 3 Filter Elements.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap the Hydraulic System 3 Reservoir Temperature Transducers (MT146) with Hydraulic System 2 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT141).
- If system checks are good, replace Hydraulic System 3 Reservoir Temperature Transducers and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Perform wiring checks between Hyd System 3 Reservoir Temperature Transducer (MT146) and DAU 3.
- If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
- Swap DAU 3 with DAU 4.
- If system checks are good, replace DAU 3 and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Swap the hydraulic filter manifold.
- If system checks are good, replace defective hydraulic filter manifold and do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Replace heat-exchanger bypass-valve.
- Do close out.
