Message Description:

The Right Inboard Brake temperature sensor is detected being either less than 65 ohms (60°C) or greater than 500 ohms (1200°C) by Heater/Brake Temperature Monitor Unit (HBMU) 2.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Inboard Brake Temperature Sensor (RT3)
  • Heater/Brake Temperature Monitor Unit (HBMU) 2 (A93)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

NOTES:

  • Due to the possibility of Brake Temperature Sensor damage on removal/installation, swapping sensors is not recommended.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform wiring checks between Right Inboard Brake Temperature sensor and Heater/Brake Temperature Monitor Unit (HBMU) 2 as follows:

    From To Result
    PW22-A A93P2-27
    PW22-B A93P2-28

    1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with the next step.

  2. Measure the resistance of right inboard brake temperature sensor (refer to the Brake Temp Sensor Resistance vs Temperature chart).

    1. If resistance is within range, continue with the next step.
    2. If resistance is out of range, go to step 4.

  3. Interchange HBMU 2 with HBMU 1. Does the fault follow the HBMU?

    1. If YES, replace HBMU 2.
    2. If NO, continue with the next step.

  4. Replace Right Inboard Brake Temperature Sensor.
NOTE: Due to the possibility of Brake Temperature Sensor damage on removal/installation, swapping sensors is not recommended.
  5. Do close out.
