Fault Description:
Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 senses that the position analog signal from the Rudder Trim Actuator is out of range.

- Rudder Trim Actuator (B40)
- Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) 1 (A17)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Remove the DAU 1 to get access to the connector A17AP1 and Head-Up Display (HUD) Computer to get access to the connector B40P1. Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A17AP1-B5 B40P1-F - If there is no continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is continuity, continue with next step.
- Perform a continuity check as follows:
From To Result A17AP1-B5 Ground - If there is continuity, repair or replace defective wiring as required and do close out.
- If there is no continuity, continue with the next step.
- Swap DAU 1 with DAU 3. Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace DAU 1 and do close out.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace the Rudder Trim Actuator.
- Do close out.
