RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Fault Description:

The internal temperature of Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 3 is higher than the safe maximum limit of approximately 72 °C.

Possible Causes:

  • Ventilation Inlet
  • Cooling Fan
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 3 Battery
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 3 Configuration Module (A84)
  • Integrated Avionics Computer (IAC) 3 (A12)

NOTE: In this condition, IAC 3 can possibly transmit incorrect data to other aircraft systems.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the CAIMS PMAT, get access to system diagnostics and do the IAC EDS/Core Test.
  2. After each test is completed, look for the TEST RESULTS page and record the fault type and code(s) for each IMT fault.
  3. Perform the IMT fault code look-up procedure to find the applicable troubleshooting procedures.
  4. Carry out troubleshooting procedures.
  5. Do close out.
