These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Using CAIMS, Access ATA 32, BCU, BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM DATA PAGE 1 (AUTOBRAKE STATUS 1), (AUTOBRAKE STATUS 2) and (AUTOBRAKE CONDITIONS FOR ARMING/APPLICATION) check the system read outs for troubleshooting.
  2. Perform wiring checks of the AUTOBRAKE SELECTOR panel including the AUTOBRAKE SWITCH A2.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  3. Verify solenoid by applying 28 VDC to AUTOBRAKE SELECTOR Panel AP23P3 between 11(+) & 13 (-). Make sure solenoid operates properly.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Perform wiring checks between the BCU and the AUTOBRAKE SELECTOR Panel including the panel ground.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  5. Re-rack the BCU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Replace BCU.
  7. Do close out.
