Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The PARKING BRAKE PRESSURE SWITCH position is not in accordance with the PARKING BRAKE Selection or aircraft configuration.

  • Parking Brake Pressure Switch (S6)
  • Brake Control Unit (BCU) (A71)
  • Parking Brake Valve (A175)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Using CAIMS, Access ATA 32, BCU, BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM DATA PAGE 21 (DISCREET INPUT STATUS), check the discreet read outs for the Parking Brake Switch for each BCU channel and the brake pressures.
  2. Replace the PARKING BRAKE VALVE, confirm fault is no longer present and go to step 7.
  3. Perform wiring checks between PARKING BRAKE PRESSURE SWITCH and the BCU.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace PARKING BRAKE PRESSURE SWITCH, confirm fault is no longer present and go to step 7.
  5. Re-rack the BCU. If wiring repairs were made, confirm fault is no longer present and go to step 7.
  6. Replace BCU.
  7. Do close out.
