WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

An uncommanded Brake condition is reported by the Brake Control Unit (BCU) on Label 270 if any of the following condition is met:

  • Left Outboard Brake Pressure > commanded
  • Left Inboard Brake Pressure > commanded
  • Right Outboard Brake Pressure > commanded
  • Right Inboard Brake Pressure > commanded

Possible Causes:

  • Left Inboard Brake Control Valve (MT153)
  • Left Outboard Brake Control Valve (MT53)
  • Right Inboard Brake Control Valve (MT169)
  • Right Outboard Brake Control Valve (MT56)
  • Inboard Brake Shutoff Valve (L13)
  • Outboard Brake Shutoff Valve (L14)
  • Brake Control Unit (BCU) (A71)
  • Pilot Left Brake Pedal Position Transducer (MT57)
  • Pilot Right Brake Pedal Position Transducer (MT58)
  • Copilot Left Brake Pedal Position Transducer (MT59)
  • Copilot Right Brake Pedal Position Transducer (MT60)
