Troubleshooting Recommendations:

NOTE: The Pilot Handwheel position RVDT can be monitored into CAIMS under the Steering Control Unit (SCU) and Nose Wheel Steering Transducer Positions if SCU-3 is installed.

  1. Re-rack the SCU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform the Steering handwheel RVDT rigging in the CAIMS via the Perform LRU/System Operations page and you make the selection rigging tab.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform wiring checks between the Steering Control Handwheel RVDT (MT2P1) and the SCU (A36P1).

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the Steering Control Handwheel. Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the SCU.
  6. Do close out.
