Troubleshooting Recommendations:

NOTE: The Rudder Pedal RVDT position can be monitored in CAIMs under the Nose Wheel Steering Control Unit (SCU) rigging page.

  1. Re-seat SCU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform the Rigging of the Steering control system.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Perform a wiring check between SCU and Rudder Pedal Control RVDT.

    1. If wiring checks are not good, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.
NOTE: While wiring checks are being accomplished have a second person gently 'shake down' wiring from the RVDT. Inspect wiring on RVDT carefully for extreme bends and kinks or breaks.

  4. Replace Rudder Pedal Control RVDT.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace SCU.
  6. Do close out.
