Fault Description:
With this type of failure two messages will be displayed, APU SHUTDOWN AND APU DOOR FAIL. This task had to be done with APU DOOR FAIL CAS message. This caution message shows when the inlet door is not in the correct position or the Inlet Door Rotary Transducer is defective.
Possible Causes:
- Inlet-Door Rotary Transducer (MT5)
- Full-Authority Digital Engine-Controller (FADEC) (A108)
- Linear Actuator (A199)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Does the 'APU DOOR FAIL' (Caution) show on the EICAS primary display?
- If YES, troubleshoot them first and continue with next step.
- If NO, continue with next step.
- On the CAIMS PMAT, perform the flight deck effect to fault correlation procedure.
- Find the following CAIMS active fault INLET DOOR RTRY XDCR [DR POS OUT HI].
- Replace Inlet Door Rotary Transducer.
- Do close out.
