Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform a deactivation of the thrust reverser and open the cowls.
  2. Examine the P30 air tube, the end connectors and unions for damage, dents, cracks, fretting and connections that are loose.
NOTE: Release the clips as necessary to see below them. Make sure that all the clips are installed correctly after this inspection is completed.

    1. If the tube end connections or unions have damage or leaks, replace the applicable tube and go to step 11.
    2. If there are cracks or fretting, replace the applicable tube and go to step 11.
    3. If there are dents, replace the applicable tube if:

      • The dents are less than 0.50 in (12.70 mm) from the tube end connector
      • The dents are in one diameter from the tube end connector
      • The dents decrease the diameter of the tube by 10% or more

    4. If there are loose connections with no damage, tighten the connector and continue with next step.

  3. Smooth dents on the external surfaces of bends which are less than 0.015 in (0.38 mm) in depth, the dents are less than 0.040 in (1.00 mm) in diameter or not more than 0.025 in (0.63 mm) in depth.

    1. If dents are greater than the stated limits, replace the applicable tube and go to step 11.
    2. If dents are within the stated limits, continue with next step.

  4. Start the engine.
  5. Stop the engine.
  6. Make sure the CAIMS message does not show.

    1. If fault message not shows, go to step 11.
    2. If fault message shows, continue with next step.

  7. Replace the Right EEC.
  8. Start the engine.
  9. Stop the engine.
  10. Make sure the CAIMS message does not show.
  11. Close the cowls and perform a activation of the thrust reverser.
  12. Do close out.
